Tailings pond dredging in an aggregates plant

Location:
Switzerland
Year:
2017
Description:
Dragflow signed a contract in Switzerland with a large company with facilities in 90 countries, leader in processing aggregates for concrete, cement and asphalt.

The customer was looking for an efficient solution to remove the sediments from the tailings pond, feeded by the aggregates washing plant.

DRAGFLOW supplied a Remote Controlled Dredge model DRP120E22, equipped with one electric pump model EL1204 and two electric cutters model  EXEL20.

This Dragflow dredging system is unique due to its compact dimensions that still guarantees optimal performance. You can assembled this dredge on the shore and then, launch it full-assembled using its lifting points.

In attention to the client's request, this DRAGFLOW dredge can be controlled remotely, and  through the on-board panel as well. It includes a PLC that monitors all  the dredge parameters and the dredge position during the operation. This dredge can be moved over the pond through a system of four winches with 110m steel cable each.

In case the side cutters are blocked with hard material or large objects, they can be unblocked automatically by the PLC reversing their rotation direction. This dredging unit can also work semi-submerged, thanks to its custom-designed water cooling system. This dredge is also equipped with a high-pressure water jet ring system to dredge the slurry when the water level is low.
